Old Updates
June 17th
Hi there!
I'm adding three new fanarts today. Let's see:
Real me features Beth Turner from Moonlight. This character piece was inspired by the episode B.C. (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600).
The other Moonlight wallpaper is based on the episode Click and features Beth and Josef. Handle it: (1024x768) and (800x600).
Lastly, a House, M.D. wallpaper featuring Gregory House: I have a gift. (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600).
Now, a little announcement. Tomorrow, I am going away on vacation to Carpathian Mountains and I won't have Internet access (and a computer, actually) until the 14th of July. So the next update might happen a little later than my usual monthly schedule (due to lack of new art), and I won't be able to reply to any tags or emails until I'm back.
Well, that's it; hope to see you all in a month or so. (And I miss you guys already.)
And - thank you for all the comments and feedback! I appreciate them enormously, as always :)

Hello guys :) I've added four new wallapers to the site today.
Between you and me is a maipulation featuring Mick St. John and Josef Konstantin from Moonlight. I am quite happy with how it turned out :) (1440x900, 1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600)
Blood Ties is a simple promo wallpaper featuring the show's cast. (1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600)
And one more Blood Ties piece, based on the episodes 1x07-1x08: No more killing. (1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600)
Finally, one Jensen Ackles wallpaper :) (1024x768 and 800x600)
I have three new affiliates: Erin Nicole who is back online with a new site, Dearly Devoted; Josh @ Kissing Daylight; and CRene @ Heaven. Please check them out ;)
I want to thank everyone who tagged the board and left comments. Your feedback is highly appeciated, as always; thank you guys! *hugs*
April 21st
Hi guys,
Unfiortunately, my condition got worse and I'm not feeling well, so this is going to be another quick update. I have three new wallpapers: 1 Heroes (feat. Peter Petrelli), 1 Friday Night Lights (feat. Jason Street) and 1 Moonlight (feat. Mick St. John). You can get the 1024x768 versions by clicking on the thumbnails on your left or, if you need bigger or smaller sizes, by visiting the Other Art page.
I'm happy to welcome back an old affiliate whose art is lovely and elegant: Kathy @ Silver Glass is back online. Go check her out!
Finally, thank you to all who left messages and feedback in the tagboard - it's as much appreciated as always; even if I don't have the opportunity to reply personally, they do mean a lot. And special thanks to Galathea and demoniodehiel for helping me solve my recent art theft issues and for their mad translator skills :)

Hi guys!
I'm not feeling well so the today's update will be quick. I've added four new
pieces of fanart:
One Moonlight wallpaper featuring Beth Turner and Mick St. John (1024x768) and (800x600);
Three spuffy collages that you are free to use as headers in your lj or blog; the only condition is that you don't modify them. I'll also appreciate a link back to this site :) Spike and Buffy: collage #1, collage #2, collage #3.
Added two awards I've gotten recently:
second place at Stupid Shiny Volvo Owner challenge that took place at BF
(for this piece)
and the DTD Approved Site award from Dusk
'til Dawn. Thank you so much JJ and Janine!
And I have two new affiliates: Mary @ All New SMG, a newborn French fansite dedicated to Sarah Michelle Gellar; and Stephanie @ Immortal Kiss, a very beautiful fanart portfolio.
Thanks to all for the kind comments and greeting cards, especially Sarah and Holly! The (Orthodox) Easter is yet to come in my country, but your gifts are very much appreciated and I'm really touched - so, thank you guys :)

Hi guys :) First of all: Ugly Business has moved. So, if you are my affiliate or just have this site bookmarked, please make sure your link is:
http://uglybusiness.misplaced.co.uk
I've re-uploaded all the content (except for the icons; they will be added later) and everything should be working fine. But, if you happen to run across any mistake, or glitch, or broken link, I'd be grateful if you let me know. I believe I've checked every page after uploading, but I do have the habit of not noticing things so any "bug report" will be highly appreciated :o)
Now, onto the art. I added three new wallpapers: two variations of a Moonlight piece featuring Mick St. John, and one Firefly/Highlander crossover (illustration to this fic by Jinxed_Wood).
Running from those days, version 1: (1280x1024) and (1024x768)
Running from those days, version 2: (1280x1024) and (1024x768)
Blue sun rising: (1024x768) and (800x600)
I updated the downloads section. Two new brush sets were added: splatters and paint strokes. The brushes were made of actual paint drips and strokes that I've scanned and cleaned up. I hope they will be useful :) Both sets work in Photoshop 7 and above, plus I created imagepacks for non-PS users. You can find previews and download links here, at the bottom of the page.
Also, added six new textures here. There is "dusty" paper, grit/scratches on a black background, and coloured/patterned cardboards (some of them torn). All textures are wallpaper-sized.
I have two new affiliates, Dan @ Unending and Lily @ Silver Moon Myst. Go check them out, their art is lovely :)
Finally, I've added as much as 18 awards I won in the AFA's ceremony that took place at Buffy Forums on 24th of February. I am still a little stunned with the amount of awards and high placements I got - I never expected to get so many, considering the very high level of other participants, their skills and amazing creativity. To find myself placed among such talented people whose art I adore, as Jenni Lou, Chris, Lyn or SayJay - to name just a few - was an honour for me. But to actually win... well, that was impossible. So, my feelings can now be described the best with a very loud ohgodwow! %) I want to thank everyone who voted for me and who designed the beautiful awards that I got. And, of course, SayJay who made the whole event happen. Thank you! :)
And last, but not least: a usual thank you to all who commented in the tagboard. Your feedback guys means a lot to me and is highly appreciated, as always.
February 17th
Finally, an update. Damn work. Hi guys :)
I'm adding three new wallpapers today: Veronica Mars, Moonlight
and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
You're not afraid features Veronica and Aaron Echoles from the episode Not Pictured; I tried to to capture their terrifying scene in the elevator and the flashbacks I'm sure they both were having at that moment. It's my first VM piece ever, too :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
The last line is a spuffy wallpaper based on the episodes The killer
in me and Chosen. There are lines from Russian song in it that mean,
"Me and you came flying to the aim, purpose that's been destined for
us.
This is our secret point, the last line in the song."
(1024x768) and (800x600)
And the Moonlight wallpaper features Mick St. John. It is my
first ever fanart for this show as well :) Or rather, fanarts as there actually
are two slightly different versions:
Verison 1 (1280x1024)
(1024x768)
Verison 2 (1280x1024)
(1024x768)
Ugly Business is the proud site of January and February at Signe's beautiful
fanart site Call Her
Green :)
Here, you can read the incredibly sweet commentary she's written on my work.
Thank you again dear, I am truly honoured!
I have one new affilate which I also feel extremely proud about. It's BuffyForums.Net,
the legatee of the old BuffyWorld fansite and forums that - without any overstatements
- have changed my life. I literally have no idea what and where would I be now
if I hadn't found that community five years ago. This site wouldn't even exist,
that's for sure, 'cause I wouldn't start making fanart and wouldn't meet my
amazing friend and hostess Nikki.
My English, however crappy it is, would be long forgotten due to lack of practice,
and the very thought of how many great people I'd never know and things I'd
miss because of that - that thought is actually scary. Hell, I would never even
get the job I have now. The forum celebrated its first anniversary since its
re-incarnation on 12th of February, so I think this is the right time to thank
its new owner Nikki and all the amazing people I met there. Meeting you guys
was seriously one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Well, this is all for now. Thank you to all who commented and left feedback: your response is what keeps me going and I appreciate it more than I can say :)
January 2nd
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you're having great holidays :)
I've added three new wallpapers. First, there's a festive Buffy manipulation to go with the holliday spirit :) Happy Holidays! (1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600)
Also, a Harry Potter piece portraying Ralph Fiennes as young Lord Voldemort: They do not call me 'Tom' anymore: (1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600)
And a Pirates of the Caribbean wallpaper/manipulation, featuring Jack Sparrow and Commodore Norrington (this piece was made for the same printable calendar as my Supernatural one). Heart's Desire: (1024x768 and 800x600)
I am the artist of January at Infinite Illusion, a beaultiful fanart website. Bre, the site's owner and my fellow BuffyForumer, has written some very flattering words about me and my art, which makes me feel extremely proud %) She presented me with a pretty award and, also, agreed to become my affiliate - so, if you haven't clicked on her link yet, you should do it right now and go check her artwork out ;)
I've removed a couple of affiliates whose sites closed, and the link to my fanlisting: its owners, Zimba and Violette, are no longer maintaining it so there's no point in keeping the link here. Thank you girls, if you're reading this - it was one of the most moving gifts I've ever gotten and I'ill never forget it!
And huge thank you to all who left comments in the tagboard and especially for all the amazing Christmas cards. I am ill, my treatment isn't too pleasant and I couldn't even go out to celebrate, so those cards and wishes really added a lot to the joy of the holiday. Thank you guys, and may your year be lucky and happy! *hugs*
December 2nd
Hi guys! Wow, I can't believe it's winter already. Sorry for the big gap between the updates - work doesn't leave me much free time. I have three new fanarts, though:
- Hugh Laurie wallpaper. A totally conceptless piece, truth to say - but I kind of like the effects... oh well. (1024x768) and (800x600)
- Stardust wallpaper with a quote from poem by Vladimir Mayakovski %) This is a result of experimeting with colouring, and I'm not really sure what I think about it. (1024x768) and (800x600)
- and an illustration to the series of original fiction by Manna, 'Administration' (a NC-17 gay love story placed in dark futuristic background that I was talked into reading by a friend :)). The art's rating would be PG-13, I think. The state of so-called pleasure: (814x514)
I am the proud winner of The Lovers award over at ENISY, a spuffy fansite that you should check out if you are a shipper :) Additionally, Ugly Business is the site of December at ENISY and another beautiful Buffyverse site, Bite Me - and all I can say is, wow %)) Thank you guys, I'm very honoured and flattered!
I also have three new affiliates; go look at their art because it's pretty :) - Amy @ Sweet Escape, Matilda @ Mongrel Minds, and Marilyne @ Shadow of the Day.
Hopefully, I'll manage to update the site once more before Christmas, but in case I don't, I'd like to wish you guys happy holidays :) And - thank you so much to all who left feedback in the tagboard! As always, your kind words make my day :)
November 4th
Hi guys! :)
Today, I've added two fanarts and thirteen new textures.
Blood of the slain is a Buffy wallpaper. Based on the episodes Bargaining and Seeing Red, it features Willow and the consequences her magic led her to. (1024x768) and (800x600)
The other wallpaper, In the doorway, was made of a manipulation featuring Dean and Sam Winchesters from Supernatural. The manip it's based on is a part of printable calendar dedicated to the Russian fan convention that took place in Moscow a few weeks ago. The prints are finally out, so I am allowed to publish it :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
A bunch of new textures (wallpaper sized) can be downloaded here (at the bottom of the page) and here. Five of them are noisy/messy, and rest are the results of my attempt to create large digital light textures from scractch %) I do hope you'll find them useful.
I've made a bit of a clean-up on the affiliates page and removed sites that weren't online or were no longer linking me back. If you think I shouldn't have removed you, please don't feel offended and let me know so I can put you back! Also, I'm glad to welcome several new affiliates whose art I like a lot and recommend to see: first off, Andy @ Intoxication and Sarah @ Impulsive (their shared domain actually was on the list of my 'old' affiliates, but now I'm adding links to their personal portfolios :)). Next, there are Marie @ Starry Skies, Ben @ Different Dimentions, Anna @ aldieb and Nadia @ The Butterfly.
Finally: thank you guys for all the tags and wicked Halloween cards! *Hugs Erin Nicole, Linda, kya-lee, Amber, Sayjay, Nikki, Dana, Natalie and Signe tightly* :)
October 16th
Hi everyone!
Sorry for the lateness of this update - I'm still unwell. But I'm bringing some
new art, finally :) Today, I've added:
'Stone walls do not a prison make...', a wallpaper featuring Michael Scofield from Prison Break. The title comes from the poem by Richard Loveless, To Althea, from Prison. I quite like how it turned out. (1280x1024), (1024x768), and (800x600);
A bonfire, wallpaper/manipulation featuring Drusilla. I think it turned out okay. (1024x768) and (800x600);
And a digital painting of Jared Padalecki that I've made as a birthday gift for Smth_Blue. I like colors in this piece, but the hair is a mess :-\ Oh well. (800x950).
I also added the challenge award that I won over at Buffy Forums; it can be seen here. Thank you Mindy!
Affiliates section has been updated as well. I am sad to say that I've removed two of my affiliates, Justin and Omri because they were caught plagiarising work of several other fanartists. I'm not going to get into details here, but you can read this topic at Buffy Forums if you want to learn more about the issue. On the brighter note, one new affiliate was added; it's Linda @ Crossing Shadows, whose site and art are really pretty and worth checking out ;)
And this would be all for now. Thank you for the kind comments, wishes and feedback guys! They really do make my life a lot brighter :)
September 16th
Hi guys! I'm ill and my eyes hurt, so today's update will be a very brief one, sorry. I've added three new wallpapers featuring:
- Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter)
- Methos (The Highlander)
- Angel and Willow (AtS/BtVS)
You can get them by clicking on the thumbnails on your left - or, if you need smaller size, go to Couples and Other Art sections.
I also want to introduce my new affies (which I've managed to forget to do last time); it's Peace with her portfolio Until My Dying Day and Erin Nicole @ Angels at Dawn. They are very talented artists, so go check them out if you haven't already.
Thank you for the comments and feedback guys. They are very much appreciated, as always.
August 27th
Hello guys!
Today, I've added two new pieces of fanart, two sets of icon textures, and five
regular sized textures/stocks for you to use.
First, there is illustration to "Чертополох" ('Thistle'), a Russian fic by Assidi. It portrais Barty Crouch (from Harry Potter saga) and original female character. I painted it for the fic(art)athon over at a Russian HP forum I am a member of. (500x731)
Next, I have an Alan Rickman wallpaper. I do like how it turned out :) (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600).
The icon textures are made by me from scratch in Photoshop; there are two sets of them including greenish blue light swirls and orange flares / light patterns. You can see the previews and download the sets here (the newst ones are at the bottom of the page).
The bigger textures are, in fact, high resolution scans of fabric and paper (black and white, both a little worn, nice for collaging), as well as a sheet of torn paper. You can download them here (newest additions are at the bottom, again). I hope you'll find them useful :)
Thanks a lot for the comments and feedback everyone! They're highly appreciated, as always :)
Also: Rune, thanks for letting me know about that weird virus thing. Don't know what causes it, but I think it's some bad code in the tagboard :( I'm looking into it at the moment. I don't want to remove the tagboard - but if I don't find a better solution, I'll do that :-\
August 5th
Hi guys!
Three new wallpapers were added today: one Harry Potter, one Angel
the series, and one Supernatural.
Ghost is manipulation I made for a contest over at a Russian Harry Potter board. I was given the characters: Cedric Diggory and Voldemort, and had to come up with a concept and create a wallpaper around it. I had some hard time making up a sutiation involving these two, since they hardly have anything in common. Finally, I went with the idea of poor Cedric's ghost haunting the Dark Lord %) (1024x768) and (800x600)
The other manipulation features Angelus. It is a very old piece I found on my HD and finished mostly to get rid of it. It's not so original now that its base has already been used by a few other fanartists (who, unlike me, don't need three months to finish a wallpaper %)) - but, oh well. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Deal is a simple episodic wallpaper; it's based on the season's finale of Supernatural. I think I do like how it turned out :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
I also added one new set of icon textures. Their style is sort of aquarelle/grunge, I made them of slightly photoshopped scans from an old book. Hope you'll find them useful :) To see the preview and download the set, click here.
This would be all for now. I just want to thank you guys for the comments and tags - your feedback means a lot to me, so, thanks!
July 15th
Hello everyone :)
I added three new fanarts today.
Cho Chang wallpaper is made of a promo for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Nothing special or conceptual about it; I was just toying with shapes and colours :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Next, there are two Supernatural fanarts featuring Dean Winchester. They are acually two versions of the same wallpaper, but they do look quite different. Both contain spoilers for the season finale, so beware. I actually like how they came out :) Oh, and I quoted lyrics from a Russiam song in them; the text reads, 'Your hounds are on my trail, and I have no peace anymore.'
Your hounds, v.1 (1024x768) and (800x600)
Your hounds, v.2 (1024x768) and (800x600)
Thanks so much for the comments and feedback guys! They are very much appreciated and really mean a lot :)
June 21st
Hi guys!
I really should be working right now, so this is going to be a very quick
update yet again. I've added three new fanarts:
A collage featuting Emma Watson (made as a birthday card for a friend of mine) - (800x600).
Sam Winchester/Meg manip ("Supernatural") is also a gift (for Tam, because she's so awesome). (1024x768) and (800x600).
And Helena Bonham Carter wallpaper (1024x768) and (800x600).
I also uploaded two sets of icon-sized textures. The first one is made of slightly photoshopped scans from an old book, second's created in PS from scratch. Hope you'll find them useful. And, if you take them, I'll apperciate it if you credit this site :)
Thanks so much to all who commented in the tagboard! Your feedback is what keeps this site running, guys :) Thank you!
May 29th
Hello guys!
In our bed?! is a Buffy episodic wallpaper, it features Spike and Harmony from the episode Something Blue. (1024x758) and (800x600)
Next wallpaper features Wentworth Miller. (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600)
And the third one, Stay dead features Dean Winchester from the episodes Faith, Nightmare, and In My Time Of Dying of Supernatural. (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600)
Credits list can be seen here. It needs to be updated, sorry - I'll try to get it done next time.
Thanks so much to all who emailed and commented in the tagborad! All your feedback and kind words mean a lot to me guys :) Thank you!
May 9th
Hello guys!
I added two new fanarts and three brushsets today.
The first artwork is a wallpaper/manipulation featuring Dexter and Rita from Dexter. I have to say that while all my works are usually rated G, this one is closer to PG-13. There's no nudity, no blood, nothing of that sort of "dark" though, so please don't run away %) (1024x768) and (800x600)
The other piece is a digital painting of Spike I did a few days ago when trying to get familiar with pen tablet. It's kinda raw: I haven't painted in a decade and it shows, but oh well :) (550x700)
Credits list can be seen here.
New brushes include Masking 2, Doodles and Noise. You can look at previews and download the sets here. All brushes work in Photoshop 7.0, CS, and CS2, but I also created image packs for the non-Photoshop users. Hope you'll find them useful :)
Well, that would be it for now.
I just want to thank everyone who tagged and left feedback: it is highly appreciated,
as always :) Thank you!
April 25th
Hi guys!
I am very busy at the moment, so forgive me for the briefness of this update. I've added three new wallpapers (one feat. Dexter, one Jareth the Goblin King from The Labyrinth, and one Tru and Jack from Tru Calling). You can get them either from the Recent work bar on your left, or (in case you need smaller size) in the Other Art section. Credits for the resources used are here.
Also added one new award; thanks Kristen!
I think I don't have any new affiliates?.. If I promised to add you and forgot, I'm sorry. Please do remind me, whoever you are.
And, as usual, thanks a lot to all who left comments on the TB. You guys know how much I value them :)
April 7th
Hi everyone!
Four new wallpapers and one collage were added today. Let's see...
On a stormy sea is a spuffy wallpaper/manipulation made for a challenge at BW forums. It's a bit sugary, but I still kinda like it %) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Angel gone wild is based on BtVS episode Innocence and features Buffy and Angelus. It was also made for a challenge. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Crash and burn features Sam Winchester and Jessica from the pilot episode of Supernatural. I like the concept behind this wallpaper, but not sure about the actual result. But, oh well. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Dexter wallpaper is based on the show of the same name and features Dexter Morgan. I really like how it turned out :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Where I end is a weird and very experimental collage based on the show Tru Calling; it features Tru and Jack. I am really fond of the idea, but, again, don't know what to think of the outcome :-\ (950x540)
For the resources used, see credits page here.
It was very flattering for me to find out that my spuffy manipulation, The
Moth, had won in two nominations at Solemn
Graces Awards: Best Shipper Art and Judge's Choice :) I want to (belatedly)
thank the kind person that nominated me, whoever you are, thank you! And thank
you Yani and Mandi for awarding my piece; it really is an honour :)
The pretty awards can be seen here.
I also want to boast over an even more surprising and flattering gift (it won't be exaggeration if I say that it is the most surprising and flattering one I've ever gotten) :) Dawntildusk made a fanvideo based entirely on my fanart and presented it to me :) With dawntildusk's permission, I hosted the vid on this site, and it can be downloaded here. The song is Flames by Vast, and the video's size is 24,2 megabytes; format is .avi. Thank you once again, downtildusk! And you guys, check it out and don't forget to let downtildusk know if you like it ;)
I've two new affiliates: Kat @ Katastrophee and Letty @ mvdart. Don't forget to pay them a visit ;)
Thank you for all the comments and Easter cards you've left on the tagboard guys! Your kind words and wishes really make my days brighter :) And here's a little gift from me, as well.
Happy Easter guys! Have a great one :)
March 14th
Hello everyone!
Today, I added three new wallpapers and uploaded all the backgrounds/textures I have made during last months, thirty-six total (and I almost can't believe I did it, finally) %)
Let's start with the walls. Scorching is a Buffy episodic wallpaper (based on the episodes Once More, With Feeling and Chosen), and it features Spike. The text is Spike's line from OMWF. I am not completely happy with this piece, but I do like the concept. Hope you do, too :) (1024x768 and 800x600)
Next, there is a pop-artish Harry Potter manipulation which I never managed to come up with a title for %) I made it for the Treesomes challenge over at a Russian forum I visit, and it features Tom Riddle, Ginny Weasley and Nagini. (532x810)
One more Buffy wallpaper is based on the episode The Dark Age; it features Giles and Jenny Calendar. The quote is from the actual episode. I kind of like how this one turned out %) (1024x768 and 800x600)
For the resources used, see credits page here.
Thirty-six free textures for you to use in your artwork can be found in the respective section. As there are seventy items there now, I've broken the section down into four pages; the new additions can be found here: page 2, page 3, page 4. Hope you'll find them useful! And I'll appreciate it if you credit this site if you take them :)
I have a new affiliate site, Justin's Screencap Madness. Don't forget to check it out :)
And, I think, that's it for now. I just want to thank you guys for the lovely tags and comments you left. You know that they always make my day :) Thank you!
February 17th
Hi folks!
Three new wallpapers were added today:
Warlock is based on the movie of the same name, starring Bruce Payne. (It was requested by a frined of mine. The base image was very hard to work with as I had to restore/redraw several parts, plus, it was very noisy. As a result, the wallpaper turned out very simple, but I am still proud because of all the manipulating work I managed to do.) %) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Forbidden love isn't too conceptual, I just wanted to make something pretty. The wallpaper features Willow and Angel %) The quote I used is from the episode Lie to me. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Dad: this piece features Sam and John Winchesters from Supernatural. I really do like the concept of it. The text used is Sam's words from the pilot episode. (1024x768) and (800x600)
For the resources used, see credits page here. (And I finally updated it.)
I updated the awards section, as well.
Another thing that I finally found time to do, I revised my affiliates page and removed all sites that are no longer online and those that don't link me back. (So, if you used to be on the list, but aren't there anymore - that's the reason why. However, if your site is/was only temporarily down or I made some mistake, please contact me and I'll gladly add you again.)
I also have a new affiliate, Megan @ Surreal; her work is really beautiful, so don't forget to check it out :) And I am happy to introduce you my new family member, too: it's Galathea and her art site Salt'n'Burn :) Plaese visit her, because her artwork is extremely creative and just lovely, and I'm really proud of being her sister-in-fanart now ;)
Finally, I want to thank everyone for the tags and feedback. And special big thank you to aethra, Signe, Kate, Liz, and Amber for the beautiful Valentines. I feel so loved, thanks to you :)
January 27th
Look who's updating ;) Hi guys! :)
Five new wallpapers were added today.
Sam Winchester is a character piece based on the show Supernatural. It was made as a gift for my friend Tam, but is snaggable of course :) (1024x768) and (800x600).
The moth is a spuffy wallpaper, made on request for one of my Russian friends (she requested Buffy, Spike, and either mirrors or fire; I went with fire, and added some Aimee Mann's lyrics) :) This piece is a manipulation. (1024x768) and (800x600).
Miracle features Dean Winchester from Supernatural. This wallpaper was requested, too, by one of my Russian friends. Words used are from the episode Faith. It's available at three resolutions: (1280x1024), (1024x768), and (800x600).
Lonely heart is a wallpaper featuring Angel, also available at three sizes: (1280x1024), (1024x768), and (800x600). Lyrics are by Vast.
The Fisher King wallpaper is based on the movie of the same name and also is done on request for a friend of mine, Sova :) (1024x768), and (800x600).
For the resources used, see the credits page here. (It needs to be revized, but I just don't have the time to do that right now, sorry. I will add the missing links (Supernatural-related, mostly) with my next update.)
Now, I have to make a somewhat official announcement.
It's been brought to my attention that my Amazons wallpaper has been stolen (yet again) by an unknown person, printed on fridge magnets, and sold on eBay. I am writing this to announce that I am not related to the seller and am not gaining any profit from any fanart piece I made; the wallpaper has been stolen and used illegally without my permission.
The eBay staff has been contacted already about this a few days ago, but they seem to be reacting slow, so the item is still up. Thats why I felt I needed to make the above announcement. Also... if you like my work and if you agree that stealing fanart and gaining money from it is a crime punishable by the law, I encourage you to contact the thief and tell them your opinion ;) Thank you.
And finally, as usual, thank you to all who left tags and feedback on the tagboard - they are very much appreciated :)
January 13th
Happy (belated) new year to you all, guys!
I'm sorry for such a long absence - I never thought it would take me that long to update. All I can say is that last two months were tough and a lot of bad things happened to me and my family. Hopefully, the new year is going to be happier than the last one.
The fact that I haven't updated the site doesn't mean I don't have new art to share, though :) Actually, I have quite a lot. Today, I am adding seven new wallpapers featuring BtVS, AtS, Hary Potter, Tru Calling, Supernatural, and Amy Lee.
In my dreams I'm dying all the time is a Tru Calling collage/wallpaper featuring Tru and Jack. (800x600)
Virgin state of mind is a Harry Potter-based manipulation. It features Severus Snape and Remus Lupin ;) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Jasmine blooms at night: an Angel episodic wallpaper featuring Darla and Jasmine. (1024x768) and (800x600)
In love with my sorrow features Amy Lee from Evanescence. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Fantom traveler is based on episode of the same name (from Supernatural) and features Sam, Dean, and demon. I really like how it turned out :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
A merry Christmas is a bangel manipulation/wallpaper that I made as a Christmas gift for Peace. (1024x768) and (800x600)
And one more 'Happy holidays' wallpaper. It features lord Voldemort from Harry Potter saga %) It was also made as a gift for a friend of mine. (1280x1024), (1024x768) and (800x600)
For the resources used, see the credits page here.
I have also two new affiliates: Omri @ Burned Memories and Erica @ No More Tears :)
Finally, I wanted to say that I am very very touched and grateful for the wonderful holiday wishes and cards you guys left on the tagboard. Like I said, these couple of months were hard for me, so your kind words and gifts really meant (and mean) a lot. Thank you so much Kate, Liz, Dana, Monica, Holly, Austin, Berend, and Natalie! *hugs*
November 4th
Hi folks!
Sorry for such a long gap between updates. My situation hasn't sorted out yet, but still, I really didn't expect it would take me so long to get to updating. I've got quite a few new pieces to share, though :)
Of time was made as a birthday gift for a friend of mine; it features Methos from the show Highlander. (800x600)
It's your fault is an Angel episodic wallpaper. It is based on the third season's episode The Price. (1024x768) and (800x600)
The Pureblood Pride features Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter saga. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Запонка ('The Cuff Link') is an illustration to a Russian fic of the same name (written by Merry). It features Remus Lupin and Severus Snape from Harry Potter series. (640x480)
I've also added two shareable graphic sets for Livejournal users, each including header and two matching icons:
Heart of stone, featuring Buffy (700x300)
The dark falls, featuring Buffy and Spike (700x378)
(Click here in order to view the icons.)
And two shareable headers:
Vampire here (version 1), featuring Spike (700x500)
Vampire here (version 2, 700x500)
Feel free to use them, just please, remember that they're not to be modified :)
For the resources used, see the credits page here.
Also, I've added a bunch of awards I'd won during last couple of months. They can be found here.
Finally, I've got new affiliate whose art is brilliant, don't forget to check it out: Monia @ Carbon Soak.
And I want to thank everyone who tagged the board, wrote comments, and left lovely greeting cards, especially Liz and Holly :) Thanks so much! :) *hugs*
September 27th
Hi everyone!
First of all, I have to say that at the moment I'm literally living in haos, as my apartment is being under a major renewal. Among other inconveniences, I practiaclly don't have access to the computer; and, I am still ill :( So, if I didn't reply your tag or email, I'm sorry - I just don't have the opportunity to sit properly down and check my inbox and answer: when I have spare time, the only thing I'm capable of is to drop on the bed and rest. So, if I overlooked something important, feel free to remind me and I'll do my best to get to it soon and reply. Sorry again.
Also, I want to thank everyone who helped me/offered help with the German plagiarist. I do have good news: site owner has finally contacted me and removed the layout made of my artwork :) I'm deeply grateful for your help guys! And special thank you to Emma, Lea, Jenny, Line, Veverka, and Steph for being so helpful and supportive - what would I do without you *hugs*
Now, time for the new art. Despite my current situation, I do have some Harry Potter stuff :) These aren't new really, I just have never posted them. Well, here they are.
Perfect Pair - just a joke, featuring Severus Snape and Petunai Dursley :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Shadow: wallpaper features Severus Snape. (1024x768) and (800x600)
The world enchanted: collage/manip features young Lily Evans. I forgot name of the model whose photo I've used :( Oh well. (800x600)
Choosing what is right: wallpaper/manipulation featuring Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley. The idea behind it is that Draco, in the midst of Death Eaters gathering, tears his mask off and steps in for Ginny (who is, for whatever reason, condemned to die). Uhm, yeah, I know, this concept is extremely cliched, but I still like it %) (1024x768) and (800x600)
For the resources used, see the credits page here.
And finally, I'd like to thank everyone who left comments on the TB. Your feedback and approval mean a world for me guys :) Tnank you!
September 9th
Hi guys!
One more belated (and rushed; sorry about that) update - but, well, at least
it's a big one :) I've uploaded five new wallpapers.
All the good that won't come out of us features Lily Evans (Potter) and Severus Snape. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Such pure green energy (The Key) features Dawn Summers. (1024x768) and (800x600)
The Key, version 2 (I guess I like this one better %)). (1024x768) and (800x600)
Alyson Hannigan pop-artish wallpaper: (1024x768) and (800x600)
And, finally, Pirates of the Caribbean wallpaper/manipulation featuring Elizabeth Swann (with a hint of Captain Jack Sparrow %)). Pirate's life for me: (1024x768) and (800x600)
For the resources used, see the credits page here.
I've found out that I'm nominated at The Sunnydale Fanart Awards for The Key wall, and at The Fang Fetish Awards for this spuffy manipulation. Thank you so much, the kind nomination fairies :) I'm truly honoured!
Also, I've added two challenge awards I've won at BW forums. (Thanks Wendy!) :) The awards can be viewed here.
Finally, I have as much as three new affiliates, go check them out: Josephine @ Brutal Affection, Cassanda E @ Puppet Art, and Sayjay @ Radiance.
And once again, big thanks to all who stopped by and left messages in the tagboard. I deeply appreciate your feedback guys. Thank you!
August 17th
Hi gyus,
This is not an art update, but a cry for help. I am absolutely sick of 'designers' stealing and altering my artwork, and I need some help from you. If there are any German speaking folks around here who like my fanart and agree that stealing is wrong, could you (please!) contact the owner of this German site and tell them to remove their layout? Because it is cut out of my wallpaper. I tried to contact them myself, but got lost as I don't understand the language, and the babelfish translator doesn't really help :( My e-mail address (in case you'll need to reach me) is uglybusiness[at]yandex.ru. Please and thank you!
*edited to add*
And, like this wasn't enough... I've found a couple of hours ago that my art had been plagiarised by 'tiredofwired' at LJ.com. I wrote a post about all this here, in my journal; please feel free to read it, and if you're willing to visit the thief's journal and/or tell them your opinion on what they did, I more than welcome you to do so!
August 13th
Hi guys!
Firstly, due to the increasing amount of theft and plagiarism of my artworks, I would like to remind those who seem to have overlooked or misanderstood the above message, that all the pieces I provide here are for PERSONSAL USE ONLY and not to be altered. Editing them to make layouts, icons etc, or using them as stock images for your own art is, in fact, stealing, no matter whether you 'credit' me as a 'source' or not (or how much of your own artistic skill you put into it). It is, I repeat, stealing, and stealing hardly honours you as an artist. Please consider this. Thank you.
Now, onto the news. I'm sorry about such a big gap between the updates - I'm still unwell, and the real life is a little hectic. I've three new pieces to share, though :)
Voldemort: the wallpaper features Voldemort (obviously). It is a simple character piece. The quote used in it is from the fourth book. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Maybe I was wrong: my second bangel wallpaper ever %) It is an AtS/BtVS crossover and features Angel from the episode I Will Remember You and Buffy from The Gift. The quote is from Doyle's conversation with Angel in the episode Hero. (1024x768)
I still dream: a very fluffy, nostalgic manipulation featuring Buffy and Spike. Quote is from the episode First Date. (800x700)
See credits for all the resources here.
I won six awards at Sunnydale Fanart Awards. (Best artist, Best Wallpaper, Best Het Couple, Best Episode Art, Best Buffy Character, and a Runner-up award for the Best Manip; all the awards can be seen here.) A huge thank you to those who nominated me, and to Nemo and Amarysso for the beautiful awards! I am very, very honoured :) Also, congratulations to other winners :)
Also, I have two new affiliates; Kate @ Artificial Sweetness and Signe @ Call Her Green. Go check them out ;)
Finally (as always), I want to thank everyone who left messages in the tagborad. Thank you guys, you feedback and kind words mean a lot to me!
July 8th
Hi folks!
I'm really not feeling well, so this got to be another very quick update. I added one wallpaper, one collage, seven signature banner/icon sets, and one livejournal header/icon set.
Wallpaper features Sarah Michelle Gellar and can be found here: (1024x768) and (800x600).
Collage is called Werewolf Blues and portrays Remus Lupin from Harry Potter saga. (1020x562)
Header and two matching icons feature Kristen Bell; and the signature sets (also including matching icons) feature Buffy and Faith, Willow and Spike, Willow and Angel, Sawyer (from Lost), Logan and Veronica (from Veronica Mars), and Sarah Michelle Gellar. All sets can be found here. Feel free to snag and wear them, just don't edit anything please. And I'll appreciate it if you credit me when using :)
See credits for all the artworks here.
I've got one new affiliate, it's Matt @ Hellmouth Central, a big fansite dedicated to all things Jossverse.
And this would be all for now. Hopefully I'll get well soon and manage next update shortly :) Until then, I just want to thank everyone who left messages in the tagboard. Thank you guys! Your kind words make me warm and help keep up :)
June 19th
Hi everyone! Hope you'll forgive me the delay with updating, for I am back with five new wallpapers :) My time is very limited at the moment, so I'll try to minimize my usual babbling as much as possible.
Sexy devil features Angelina Jolie. The lyrics are from the Underworld soundrack. (1024x768) and (800x600)
My sister is an episodic wallpaper based on Firefly episode Serenity. It features River, Simon and Mal. (1024x768) and (800x600)
The 10th Kingdom is actually an old piece based on the tv-movie of same name. I found it in my WIP folder :) (800x600)
Connection features Harry Potter and Voldemort from the fourth movie. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Finally, "Petrarchian" Spuffy features (obviously :)) Buffy and Spike. The sonnet used in the wallpaper is by Francesco Petrarca. Two versions of this wallpaper are available: the original Italian one (1024x768) and (800x600); and Russian one (poetic translation by Y. Solonovitch) - (1024x768) and (800x600)
See resources here.
Ugly Business is the proud Site of June at Immortal Dreams! Thank you so much Natalie, I am really honoured and flattered :) And this is my site's lovely award :)
Also, four new affiliates, check them out: Sarah and Andy @ Simplistic Desires; Anica @ Exactamondo; Jenah @ Ethereal; Austin @ Urban Myth.
And this will be all for now. Thank you guys for your lovely comments and feedback! I really apprecate them :)
P.S.: The tagboard is acing up again; several mesages went missing for some unknown reason :( To a person who asked me about banners and whose name I, unfortunately, don't remember: I do have a few signature banner/avatar sets and hopefully will upload them with my next update.
EDIT: I just found out that Ugly Business is also the SOTM at Steve's site Sunnydale Crypt! Wow. Thank you Steve for the honour and for the pretty award :)
June 2nd
Hey guys! I added two new wallpapers today, both Harry Potter-based.
I can see them, too is a weird pop-artish piece, very experimental.
It features Luna Lovegood. I'm not really satisfied with it, although I kinda
like the thestral %) (1024x768)
The piece was made a while ago (for a challenge; I couldn't post it before because
of the anonimity rule), and I, unfortunately, don't remember all the resources
I've used back then... What I can recall is that Luna's photo is courtesy of
The
Photobox, the swirly brushes are from Falling
Night, and stocks are from Stock
Exchange and Animal
Pictures Archive. Oh, and the quote used is from the fifth book, Harry
Potter and the Order of Phoenix.
Wolfsbane features Remus Lupin. The idea behind this piece is that the
Wolfsbane potion has been perfected and Remus is finally free from the influence
of the Moon. The crossed out text on the wall reads lupus (the Latin
for wolf). I do like how it turned out, excepting the perspective on
the goblet that is wrong, but I noticed it when it was too late, so oh well.
Let's pretend it's just a very BIG goblet %)
Lupin image is from Veritaserum;
screencaps are from TV-Fans (the site doesn't seem to work anymore); stocks
are from: Stock Exchange, CausticStock,
and Google image search; gradients are mine.
I also added an award I won for this piece at BuffyWorld forums. Thank you again, Tam dear :)
And I've got two wonderful affiliates, go check their sites because their art is beautiful. BlueSuzanne @ Waking Dream; Julianna @ Restricted Moments.
I think, that is all for now :) Thank you very much for the feedback and nice messages in the tagboard guys, they mean a lot to me and really encourage and inspire :)
May 17th
Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay with updating; I have a lot of new stuff to make up for that, though - four new wallpapers, twenty-nine icons, and four brush sets :)
So, the wallpapers. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is based on the movie of the
same name. I couldn't decide which colouring I liked better, so here are two
versions of it: colder (1024x768)
(800x600) and warmer
one (1024x768) (800x600).
Caps are from this
gallery; gradients are mine and from Elucidation;
textures are mine.
The Slayer features Buffy :) It is a manipulation. (800x600)
Images: Slayerverse, Pretty
As A Picture and Hi-Res
Hotties; stocks: not sure, but I think GettyImages;
brushes: default PS, Alone
With My Pride
and probably from Addicted
Arts; textures and gradients are mine.
The rogue demon hunter features Wesley Whyndam-Pryce; it is also a manipulation
:) (1024x768) and
(800x600)
Images: An
Unforgettable Obsession and
Out Now; stock images:
Stock Exchange, Scanned-Stock,
Dreamstock,
and Google image search; textures and gradients are mine.
The icons feature: Ats/BtVS -
Angel, Angelus, Buffy, and Drusilla; and Harry
Potter ones - Burty Crouch Jr., Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter,
Lucius Malfoy, Tom Riddle, Severus Snape, and Voldemort.
Click on the respective links to view them :)
The list of resources used is here.
Brushes; to look at the previews and download new sets, please click here. Note that they are all for Photoshop 7 and above. Hope you'll find them useful.
Also, I won an award and got a new affiliate. The award is for this piece; thanks a lot Beth! And my new affie is Notebelow @ Notebelow Artwork :)
And finally, the usual hug and thank you to all the visitors who left feedback in the tagboard. Thank you so much for your kind words guys :)
May 2nd
Hello guys! I've brought two new wallpapers today :)
I want the fire back is a very weird spuffy manipulation. I'm not completely
happy with how it turned out, but still really like the idea behid it, even
despite its weirdness %) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Scans: Jenni Lou, LBG, and
AUO
galleries; stock images: Degrate
Auction Galleries for the rug, SXC for the wall
texture, and the image of flames was found through Google image search several
eyars ago, so I don't remember the source, sorry; gradients are mine and fonts
are from DaFont.
The other wallpaper features Keira Knightley; no deep concept in this
one, I was just playing around with colours and shapes. I think the result is
okay :) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Scan: Hi-Res
Hotties; brush:I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure the author is credited
here already; the rest (gradients,
textures and pattens) are mine.
Two new affiliates: Iskandra and her Polish site Slizgonarnia (dedicated to Harry Poter), and Sova @ Zagorie (a multi-fandom art site, in Russian). Go visit them ;) Hmm, and I have that strange feeling that I forgot someone... if I promised but didn't add you, I'm sorry; please don't be offended and remind me again.
And, as usual, thank you to all who left messages and feedback on the tagboard! I am sorry for the delay with answering questions; I did read them and will email you guys asap. Thank you once again :)
April 19th
Hi all :) I've got five new wallpapers to share today: two Buffy and three Harry Potter.
Veela, version 1 features Fleur Delacour (I've used promotional image
from the GoF movie). Not much of the concept in this one, I was basically just
playing around with stocks and colours. (1024x768)
Image: Veritaserum;
stocks: OOTM,
DHolms, and Google;
textures and gradients are mine; fonts are from DaFont.
Veela, version 2 is a variation of the previous wallpaper. (1024x768)
Credits are same as above.
What am I? portrays Dawn and her shock and confusion after she learned
she wasn't real. I'm not overjoyed with how it turned out, truth to say... but
oh well. (1024x768) and (800x600)
Caps: Screencap
Paradise; gradients by me and from Elucidation;
textures are mine; stocks were probably found through Google.
Waiting is a manipulation; it features Remus Lupin and Severus Snape
waiting to find out if Snape's potion works. I'm rquite happy with this one
:) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Images: Hi-Res
Hunks, Stock Exchange,
Google, First
People, Scanned-Stock,
Jmulcahy_Stock,
+ one (photo of Lupin's face) was given to me by a friend; gradients: mine and
from Elucidation;
texture: Hybrid Genesis;
fonts: Fonts.Gets.Ru, DaFont.
A good man is a remake of my very
old piece; it features poor William in my all time favourite episode Fool
for love. It turned out okay, I think... (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: Screencap
Paradise; gradients by me and from Elucidation;
textures are mine; fonts from Fonts.Gets.Ru, and quote is from the episode.
I won the "Squee!" award for my pop-artish Salma Hayek collage (I entered it in Andrew's challenge at BW forums) %) Thank you Andrew! :)
I have one new affiliate, it's Steve @ Hellmouth Creations :)
Also, I thought I'd let you know that I got myself an LJ account: UglyBusiness. Feel free to visit me there :)
And finally, I want to thank all who left messages and condolences in the tagboard. You're the best guys, seriously... Thank you.
April 2nd
Hey everyone! This got to be a very quick update again. Yesterday, my Godfather died, and although we weren't very close, I don't really have time nor the spirit for a long post; sorry guys. I've added four new pieces of fanart. You'll find the thumbnails, direct links and short descriptions in the Recent Work bar on your left. The wallpapers linked from there are 1024x768, but you can get the 800x600 versions in the Other and Celebrities sections. And the credits can be found here.
I added a bunch of challenge and site awards I'd won last month; thanks Naisica and Harri! Also, thank you Amber for the sweetest welcoming card you made for me, it is very, very touching and highly appreciated. And thank you Dee for making Ugly Business your SOTM; I feel really honoured :) (The gift and the awards can be found here.)
And, of course, thank you to all who left feedback in the TB. To those who asked me questions: I'll email you a little bit later guys :)
March 21st
Hey guys :) A small update: one BtVS wallscroll and one new affiliate.
So, the wallscroll portrays Buffy and Spike relationship in season 6. I suddenly felt pathriotic, so there are Ukrainian lyrics in it :) The song is called Like the last day, here's its rough translation:
Your last words teach me so painfully
don't send them after me
you won't reach me
I hear your silence
I see your wall
don't you switch on that same war movie again
There, where every day is like the last day
we're building and breaking again
nothing more nor less than our love
You're looking through the window
I'll manage this quickly, in, like, five minutes
it is cold here, but your face is hot
and vivifying water washes off
the old tracks again
and I think it'll be always this way
There, where every day is like the last day
we're building and breaking again
nothing more nor less than our love
- By Okean El'zy
You can view the scroll here: (3655x310).
Screencaps: Screencap
Paradise, Buffy Screenshots, and Freeze Frame; stocks: Mayang.com,
Google and Stock Exchange;
textures: mine and by Gender,
I think; brushes: Soar Above
The Sky and someone from
this list - I'm really sorry, but
I can't remember; gradients are mine and fonts from DaFont
as usual.
And my new affie is Lina, the owner of Imagination. Go visit her now ;)
Oh, and I've won a bunch of challenge awards, but I'll post them next time (I have to sort them out). For now, I just want to say thank you to Naisica and everyone who voted for my pieces at АБ forums. Thanks guys :)
March 17th
Hi everyone!
This update is dedicated to Harry Potter :) Two new collages and one wallpaper were added; all of them were made for 'Love, actually' challenge at a Russian board, Астрономическая Башня. Due to the theme, they're very shipper-y :)
Draco and Hermione is an attempt at pop-art. Originally it was a collage,
but Tam wanted
a wallpaper :), so I made another version, wallpaper-sized. I like the first
variant better, though... (975x600),
(1024x768) and (800x600).
Images: Veritaserum;
stock pics: Stock Exchange,
PBStock, ZombieStock,
The Noble Collection,
and Falling Night;
brushes: mine, The Magic
Box, Soar Above The Sky,
Phoenix,
and OhPaintBrush;
textures: Immortal
Memories and mine; fonts: DaFont;
text, patterns and gradient are mine.
Crush: one more pop-art collage. It features Remus Lupin and Nymphadora
Tonks, and I kinda like it, despite the slightly unbalanced composition :) (780x630).
Images: Harry
Potter Fanzone Gallery and Veritaserum;
stocks: GettyImages;
brushes: Soar Above The Sky,
OhPaintBrush,
and mine; patterns: mine; fonts: DaFont;
quotes: the fifth book of Harry Potter and Crush by Jennifer Paige.
Change is a more 'traditional' piece. It features Draco Malfoy and Hermione
Granger, and I do like how it turned out. Special thank-yous go to Ange
who kindly allowed me to use her own photo as a base for Hermione's manipulation,
and Tam for
helping me pick the lyrics :) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Images: Veritaserum,
TV-Fans, Mugglethai,
and Ange of Angel
in Cosplayland; stock images: Wallpapers
HQ; gradients and textures are mine; fonts: DaFont;
lyrics: Amie by Damien Rice.
In other news, my older piece, How you see the world, participated in Berend's challenge at BW forums and won second place. The lovely award that it got can be viewed here. Thank you Berend!
Also, I want to thank the wonderful Sueworld2003 for her kind and flattering words about my latest works, as well as all the visitors who have commented in the tagboard. Really, it's such an encouraging feedback what keeps me up and inspires; so, thank you guys! I hope to see you keep visiting this site in the future :)
March 5th
Hello guys! I've got one new wallpaper to share.
It's called How you see the world and features Buffy, Spike, and Angel
in some symbolic landscape %) I would really appreciate your comments on it,
because it's kind of... weird, and I don't know whether I like it or not. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Images: An
Unforgettable Obsession, Freeze Frame Network, and Hi-Res
Hotties; stock pics: SCX,
Wallpapers HQ, Jademacalla,
and Google; gradients: mine; fonts: DaFont;
quote: How you see the world by Coldplay.
And I've got two new affiliates, Andrew @ Whispering Memories and Holly @ Atrufan. Go visit them now, because I don't have any more news to share today :)
February 18th
Hi guys :) A small update today: one Harry Potter wallpaper.
It's called Different and features Lucius Malfoy and Arthur Weasley
from the second movie. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: Falling Night;
stock pics: SCX; gradients, textures,
and brushes: mine; fonts: DaFont;
quote: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (the book).
In the other news, my older piece, Horcrux, won award for originality at BW forums. Thank you SaltyGoodness! :)
And I have three new affiliates whose sites you should check :) Caro @ Careless Whisper, Jonas @ Magical Carmed Caps and Liz @ Shattered Memoirs.
Also, big hug to all who left comments and sent me valentines and wishes, especially Berend, Dee, Wendy, Steph, and Natalie :) You're the best guys, and I love you, too ♥
February 5th
Hi everyone! Over three weeks since my last update, ugh. But I've got a whole bunch of new pieces to make up for that :)
Hayden Christensen wallpaper is my first monochromatic artwork. I think
the experiment turned out okay :) (1024x768)
and (800x600).
I have no idea where I got the Hayden image from, sorry :( Stock images are
from Stock Exchange and GettyImages,
gradients are mine, font is from DaFont.
A flower of Evil features Angelus. The composition is slightly off in
this one, I think... although I like the mood. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Images: Screencap
Paradise and An
Unforgettable Obsession; stock images: Google and GettyImages;
gradients and textures: mine; fonts: DaFont;
quote: Charles Bodelaire.
Next, there is a Firefly wallpaper featuring Inara Serra. It's
not very original, but okay, I think... It's also my very first Firefly
fanart :) (800x600)
Images: Buffy.Nu; stock images: GettyImages;
fonts: DaFont; the rest
is mine.
We'll never know features Wesley and dead Lilah from Angel episode
Salvage. It's dark and angsty. I like it, despite its bad composition
%) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Caps: Screencap
Paradise; stock pics: GettyImages
and DHolms; fonts:
DaFont; quote: the episode.
The rest is mine.
What separates heroes is Firefly wallpaper again, it features
Jayne from the episode Jaynestown. Yet again, I'm not happy with the
composition, but... oh well %) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: Can't take the sky;
stock images: OOTM
and Close Your Eyes;
font: DaFont; quote: the
episode; gradients are mine.
Magic! features Hernione Granger (from Harry Potter). The only
thing I dislike about this one is the fact that it's a bit too blurry. Unfortunately,
the screencap wasn't pefect quality :( But other than that, I think it turned
out good. (800x600)
Caps: TV-Fans; texture
and gradients: mine; font: DaFont
again.
Horcrux was made for SaltyGoodness'
challenge over at BW forums. It is based on the sixth book of Harry Potter
saga. I am really proud of the concept of this wallpaper, but not sure about
the execution: I was trying new things, and the result looks a little weird
:) (1024x768) and (800x600)
Caps: Falling Night
and Veritaserum;
brushes, gradients, pattern, and texture: mine; fonts: DaFont
+ one sent to me by a friend; quotes: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Our love was eternal is a simple nostalgic wallpaper featuring Spike
and Drusilla. I tried some new things on it as well, and do like the result.
(800x600)
Images: Screencap
Paradise and An
Unforgettable Obsession; fonts: DaFont;
brushes, gradient, and textures are all either default, or mine.
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer: one more experimental piece. Not really sure
what I think of it :) (800x600)
Images: The
Cheese Stands Alone, Screencap
Paradise, and Google; brushes: mine and default; gradients: mine; fonts:
DaFont.
Phew :) Also, I've got one new affie, it's Amber @ Reflection (a lovely site that you should visit ;).
I think, that would be all for now. Thanks so much for the comments and feedback guys, I really appreciate it!
January 14th
Hello everyone! I am feeling a bit better, so I have four pieces for this update.
Buffy the Vampire is actually an old one, I made it last autumn for
an alternative plot challenge. I was unhappy with how it turned out so I didn't
post it (hoping that I'd find a way to improve). But I never got around to fixing
it and, well, I don't feel like doing that anymore %) So here it is. The colours
are off and the filter is too strong, but I do like the idea. (The piece pictures
my version of season one where Buffy got turned by the Master, but was given
her soul back and didn't abandon her Slayer calling.) (800x600)
Caps: Screencap
Paradise and An
Unforgettable Obsession; font: DaFont;
text, texture, and gradients are mine.
I must lose myself in action is a simple collage; it features Draco
and Hermione.
Images: Veritaserum;
gradients and textures: mine; brushes: mine and Phoenix;
stock images: OOTM,
Stock Exchange, and GettyImages;
fonts: DaFont. Oh, and
the quote belongs to lord Tennyson. (640x600)
Star-crossed lovers features Buffy and Spike. It's an old work again;
I made it last year but couldn't think of fitting text. Finally, Tam
helped me out, wich I'm really grateful for as the wall was getting on my nerves
already :) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Images: The
Cheese Stands Alone; stocks: DHolms,
GettyImages,
Stock Exchange, and Google;
gradients and textures are mine and the fonts are default Windows; and the quote
was found here.
Severus Snape's portrait is my first drawn fanart. It is very flawed and raw, but I am still happy, because it's my first drawing/painting in nine years. Also, because it's painted from scratch in PS with mouse, since I don't have a tablet %) (650x768)
Thanks a lot to those who left feedback in the TB! You really cannot imagine what it means for me :) Thank you guys!
January 4th
Hi guys and happy New year!
Hope you all had great holidyas :)
My holidays were good, excepting the fact that I was really sick, and still am :( Which is why I don't have new art to share, just some livejournal icons: one Angel, five Buffy and eleven Harry Potter.
So, Angel/Buffy icons portray Darla, Drusilla, and Spike
and can be found here. Three of them are variations.
Caps: Screencap
Paradise, TV-fans,
Teh_Indy,
and Veritaserum;
gradients: mine; textures: mine and one, I think, by Thia;
brushes: mine, Unmasked Icons,
Elli, Digital
Bristle, Noctuidae,
and AWMP; stock
images: GettyImages;
fonts: DaFont.
Harry Potter icons feature Harry, Voldemort, the Morsmordre
spell %), Alastor Moody, Severus Snape and Hermione Granger,
Severus Snape and Petunia Evans, Snape on his own, Lucius Malfoy,
and Arthur Weasley. Two of them are animated and two are variations.
Check them out here.
Credits are same as above.
Ugly Business is the proud site of month at Wendy's beautiful Black Lagoon; also, my Enemies wallscroll won first place at BW forums. Both awards are very pretty and can be seen here :) Thank you Wendy and Tam!
I have one new affie, it's Heather and her lovely site Witty Comeback. Please visit her ;)
Thanks so much for the beautiful cards and greetings guys! It feels fantastic to be remembered and loved like this, especially when I'm ill; and I am so much more grateful than I can say :) *Hugs you all tightly* Thank you!
December 19th
Hey guys :)
It's the middle of the night and I am unwell and terribly sleepy, so I'll be
quick. Two pieces of fanart were added.
Perfect enemies is a wallscroll I made for Tam's challenge over at BW
forums. It features Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. There are a few images
from the new movie in it, so it might be spoilerish. (They are just promotional
pics, though.) (1455x370)
Caps: Falling Night,
TV-fans and Veritaserum;
brushes: awmp
and Phoenix; texture:
mine; gradients: mine and default; fonts: DaFont;
quotes: from the fifth book and from "Passive" by A Perfect Circle.
I lost me features Willow over Tara's dead body in the episode Seeing
Red. (This one looked so much better in my head... *sigh*) (1024x768)
(800x600)
Caps: Buffy Screenshots (the site's closed some time ago); stock images: SXC,
GettyImages,
and a scan from AUO
Galleries; lyrics: "Heart of the Matter" by Don Henley; font is Times
New Roman; the rest is mine.
I think I don't have new affiliates... so that'd be all for now. Thanks to all who stopped by and wrote a message on the tagboard! You warm my heart guys :)
November 29th
Hi guys! Today, I have two new wallpapers and nine livejournal icons to share :)
The world famous Golden river gold fish is devoted to The 10th Kingdom
mini-series and portrays just what the title says: the gold fish :) I'm not
overjoyed with how it turned out, but I think it's okay. (800x600)
Caps: I've collected them too long ago to remember for sure, but I think they're
probably from the Cap
It community at LJ. Brushes and textures are mine; gradients are mine and
by Noctuidae;
font is from DaFont.
Don't tell me what I can't do is my tribute to Locke from Lost.
I like this piece better and hope you do, too :) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: Lost Media; stock
images: OOTM,
DHolms and this
site; gradients are mine; fonts are Arial and Impact.
The icons are based on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movies; they feature Severus
Snape, Beauxbatons' arrival and a gloomy Hogwarts landscape
%) Some of them are variations, and two are animated. You can view them here.
Images: TV-Fans
and Veritaserum;
stock images: GettyImages;
gradients are default PS and mine; fonts are from DaFont
again.
I also fixed the typo in Wiedzmin wallpaper (thanks again Julianna for pointing it out :)). You can see the correct version here: (1024x768) and (800x600).
Finally, I want to thank everyone for tags and comments on my last update, and especially Dana and Berend for the beautiful greeting cards :) Thank you guys, I am very touched!
November 22nd
Hi everyone! I'm still alive, just couldn't quite get to my Dreamweaver and update the site. The real life is a bit hectic... I brought a bunch of new art, though. And a new brush set :)
So, Dreams is an illustration to Russian fanfic "Он часто видел
сны" by Vardek. (The fandom's Jossverse, post-AtS.) I like the mood
and the effects, though the composition is a bit off, I think... (920x520)
Images: Last Beautiful
Girl, Scan-tastic,
the
AUO gallery; stock images: GettyImages
and Stock Exchange; brushes: The
Magic Box and mine; fonts: DaFont;
texture and gradients: mine.
The Killing Curse is my attempt to picture the ideology of a Death Eater
%) I am not sure if I managed to pull out the concept. Would love to know what
you guys think. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: TV-Fans and
Veritaserum;
fonts: from DaFont; texture
and gradients: mine.
Chopped off strings was made for Nikki's challenge at BW; it portrays
Angel quitting being the PTB's puppet in Not Fade Away. I am not too
happy with how this piece looks, but really love its concept. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: SP and
Alanna; textures: mine; brush: All About The Grey (I lost the link when my compurer
crashed, sorry!); text: quote from my own poem; font: Times New Roman; gradients:
mine.
Haunted features Severus Snape thinking of the past. This wallpaper is
a bit eclectic as I mixed a "classy" style with some pop-art elements
in it, but I'm rather fond of the result. (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Caps: TV-Fans and
Veritaserum;
fonts: from DaFont; patterns,
texture and gradients: mine.
Wiedzmin is based on a wonderful Polish book (and nice movie, also Polish).
The title is hard to translate, it means something similar to both "warlock"
and "demon hunter". (And I really hope I spelled it correctly %))
Not sure if I like the piece or not; I tried some new techniques on it. (1024x768)
and (800x600).
I really have no idea where I got the images from; it was, like, three years
ago. I only remember that I googled them... Fonts are from DaFont
and the brush's from All About the Grey again; the rest is mine.
I won the war was made for the "Alternative Ending" challenge
over at a Russian Harry Potter forum and features Harry. I like the concept
and composition in general, and I think the manip turned out pretty good; however,
some details are seriously flawed, 'cause I worked on them in a rush :( (800x600)
Scans and caps: TV-Fans,
Veritaserum,
and this
gallery; stock images: Bruno's
Honeypot, Google, Stock
Exchange; brush: All About The Grey; gradients: mine and by Noctuidae;
font: sent to me by a friend via email.
The brush set I've added is based on the drawing of a feather I made in PS a while ago. The brushes are for Photoshop 7.0 and higher and can be downloaded here.
I won two awards, both first places: for my Strings piece and for I won the war one. Thank you so much Nikki! And thanks to all who voted for me at Astronomy Tower. The awards can be viewed here.
I also have two new affiliates whose art is really lovely :) Check them out: Natalie @ Immortal Dreams and Cindy @ After the Rain.
Finally, I'd like to thank all who stopped by and commented. All the tags and nice words you left are highly appreciated :) Thank you.
October 31st
Hi :)
A quick update, 'cause I'm very very sleepy. I added two new wallpapers.
First one features Amy Acker; (1024x768)
and (800x600).
Scan: I am not sure, probably the
AUO gallery; fonts: DaFont;
stock images: GettyImages;
the rest (gradients, textures etc.) is mine.
The other one portrais Michelle Trachtenberg; (1024x768)
and (800x600).
Scan: Slayerverse;
stock images: GettyImages;
gradients and texture: mine; font: Times New Roman.
One new affiliate; it's Jack @ Deepest
Ink; Jack's site is lovely, so be sure to check it out :)
I'll add the plugs next time guys, I really need to go to bed now. Let me just say thanks a lot to all who left nice messages on the tagboard! I highly appreciate them :)
October 22nd
Hello guys :)
I've spent too much time at the computer and my eyes hurt, so I'll be quick again. I've got two new wallpapers.
Draco Malfoy wallpaper is based on the new photo from Harry Potter
and the Goblet of Fire. It's a bit experimental and I'm haven't decided
yet if I like it; I'll appreciate it if you share your opinions :) (1024x768)
and (800x600)
Scan: Veritaserum;
stock imags: Stock Exchange, GettyImages
and probably some other place I can't think of at the moment, sorry; gradients:
mine and Noctuidae;
fonts: DaFont.
Alive features Buffy in season 6; no actual episode, although I've used
caps from Bargaining and Flooded. I'd be really happy with it
if only the caps were a little lighter and sharper, but I realize that it's
impossible for those night exterior scenes... Oh well :) (800x600)
Caps: Screencap
Paradise; brush: OotM;
stock image: Google; gradients are mine;
fonts: DaFont; lyrics:
Blessing In Disguise by Edguy (special thanks to Tam
for helping me find them :)).
I have a new affiliate, it's Rachel @ Serbet Lemon (which is a nice Harry Potter site that you should check out.) :)
Finally, thanks so much to all who visited and commented! Plugs: Tam, Lily, sueworld2003, hayley, Natasha, Koolchooken, and yffub.
October 14th
Hello everyone :)
I am very tired and should have been asleep for hours now, so let this update be short. Three new wallpapers added; one Angel and two Harry Potter.
What happened to you features Wesley and Gunn in the episode Spin
the Bottle. (1024x768) and (800x600).
Screencaps: Screencap
Paradise; font: DaFont;
gradients are mine.
Harry at Olliwander's based on the first movie; the title is self-explanatory
:) (800x600).
Screencaps: TV-fans;
gradients are mine; font was sent to me by a friend (no idea where she got it
from, sorry); texture's made by me and the quotation is from the book.
Hermione wallpaper is based on the Harry Potter and the Goblet of
Fire promo. (1024x768) and (800x600).
Images: Veritaserum;
stock image: Stock Exchange; textures
are mine; gradients: mine and Noctuidae;
fonts: DaFont.
I have written a new tutorial, it's not uploaded on the site yet, but you can find it here, on the Buffyworld Forums. The tutorial's on image improving/achieving "painted" look; I used this Tom Riddle wallpaper as example.
I won three challenge awards; you can view them here. Thank you Wendy and Fincka!
